How I travel light

One of the main reasons I turned to iPhone Photography was because I love to travel light.

Because I use an iPhone for taking, managing, and editing photos, I don’t need multiple pieces of luggage anymore: A simple backpack is enough, and I don’t need a camera bag anymore.

On this page, you’ll find an overview of the packing gear and electronics I use to travel light. Plus you’ll find the latest blog posts about photo spots and travel destinations.

For traveling light I rely on these three bags and jackets. The Osprey Farpoint 40 is a carry-on compliant travel backpack that enables me to carry everything I need for trips of up to 5 days. I use the Gonex foldable backpack as an on-site daypack so I don’t have to carry the Osprey around. For the stuff I need to have at handy, I usually wer the ScotteVest Travel Vest that has lots of pockets for all the stuff and gear.

Packing & Carrying

Travel Accessories

I’ve tried most of the journaling and note taking, and logging apps for iPhone on the market. They’re great - just not for me. So I turned to good old pen and paper for everyday note taking and trip journaling.

Travel Tech Accessories

I rely on power banks and chargers made by Anker to keep my devices like iPhone and iPad Mini charged.

Anker 521 Magnetic Battery

One of the best and most feature-rich third-party camera apps for iPhone. Supports RAW, night mode, perspective correction, manual settings and so much more.

Anker 521 40W USB-C Charger

If you don’t need manual modes or other special modes of third party camera apps, the iOS camera app may be sufficient. Supports RAW and night mode. I use it mainly for snapshots.

Finally, here are a few everyday carry tools that I use.
