This cheetah posed for me at the Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna. The zoo is the oldest zoo in the world. It opened in 1752 to the public and is home to more than 700 species. The animals have huge corrals and each year a dozen baby animals are born. When you're in Vienna, make sure to visit the Zoo. It's just a few minutes walk from the famous Schönbrunn Castle.
I took the photo with a Nikon D300 and originally processed it with Apple Aperture.
When I made the shift to mobile photography, I reprocessed the RAW file on an iPad. The main "problem" with this photo are the eyes of the cat. They were almost completely dark. I used the magic brush from Filterstorm Neue [iTunes App Store Link] to create a mask for the eyes and lightened shadows and slightly increased saturation for the masked area.
