In my search for ruins and abandoned places I found the village Döllersheim in Lower Austria. The inhabitants of Döllersheim were expelled during World War II. The entire area was transformed into a military training area during the war which it still is today.
Nowadays a few ruins and the abandoned church with the graveyard are at the verge of the military training area and are the only remains of the village accessible for the public. When I photographed there, a military training was in progress. Given the history of the place it was a strange feeling to photograph while hearing gunfire.
